5 Channel Wireless Receiver Product Highlights

The IWR-5 is a receiver equipped with five channels, specifically designed to connect with IWPT & IWTT wireless pressure and temperature transducers. This configuration serves as an economical alternative to traditional wired transducers, providing an affordable solution in situations where installation may be inaccessible or costly.

With the IWR-5, users have the flexibility to choose between voltage or mA outputs that correspond to the calibrated range of the remote Wireless Transducers. Additionally, it includes 5A rated changeover contacts to facilitate alarm functions.

Configuration of user channels is made easy with the IWR-Set program, minimizing the time required for user setup. This ensures a streamlined solution for managing multi-channel pressure and temperature measurements. The receiver includes a standard 0dBI antenna, which enables a line-of-sight range of up to 500 meters. For those requiring greater distance, an optional 3dBI antenna can be used, extending the line-of-sight range up to 750 meters (LOS).

Wireless Receiver Features

  • Pairs with the IWPT & IWTT wireless pressure & temperature transducers
  • User-selectable 1-5V or 4-20mA receiver output
  • Clean contact output for process, low battery or
    loss of signal alarm function
  • Simple software or DIL switch pairing with IWPT/U & IWTT/U transmitters
  • Up to 750m range, line-of-sight
  • 12 to 32 Vdc powered
  • End-to-end accuracy of ±0.25% FS BFSL
  • LED indication of wireless link
  • DIN rail or wall mounting kits available
  • Single channel receiver available – see data sheet IWR-1

Wireless Receiver Applications

The IWR-5 Wireless Receiver is ideal for simple cable replacement installation, allowing users to eliminate the need for expensive and disruptive cable runs. By using wireless technology, the receiver streamlines installation processes, making it possible to connect remote sensors or devices without the logistical challenges and costs associated with traditional wiring. This is especially beneficial in environments where running cables is impractical or would require significant downtime.

In the realm of environmental monitoring, the IWR-5 excels in settings such as pumping stations, sewage plants, and water treatment facilities. These locations often require the monitoring of remote or hard-to-access equipment. The wireless receiver enables real-time data collection from sensors monitoring water levels, flow rates, or chemical concentrations, all without the need for extensive cabling infrastructure, thus improving both efficiency and safety.

For facilities management, the IWR-5 provides a robust solution for monitoring critical systems like boiler rooms, plant hydraulics, and plant pneumatics. By wirelessly connecting sensors to a central receiver, facility managers can keep track of system performance, detect faults early, and schedule maintenance proactively. This wireless approach reduces installation complexity and ensures that even legacy systems can be easily integrated into modern monitoring frameworks.

When it comes to asset monitoring, the IWR-5 is well-suited for use in tank farms, process plants, HVAC systems, and building management. The receiver allows for continuous, wireless oversight of valuable assets, ensuring that parameters such as temperature, pressure, or fluid levels are always within safe limits. This not only protects equipment and inventory but also supports compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Finally, the IWR-5 is an excellent choice for service contract applications, particularly for temporary installations during servicing and field trials. Its wireless nature means it can be quickly deployed and removed as needed, making it perfect for short-term monitoring projects or when evaluating new processes and equipment in the field. This flexibility helps service providers deliver efficient, non-intrusive solutions to their clients.
