ME 770 – Piezoresistive Pressure Sensor Flush Membrane with signal conditioning

Signal-conditioned precision for corrosive, harsh environments

Introducing ME 770 Pressure Sensors: Built with a ceramic base body and piezoresistive principle, featuring a Wheatstone bridge on the diaphragm’s inner side. Signal conditioning electronics create a 0.5…4.5 V ratiometric output. Pressure and temperature calibration are electronically done with the ASIC in bar (ME770) or psi (MEP770). Temperature changes are compensated with offset and span correction. Constant aging detection ensures precision and long-term stability. ME 770 family meets EMC requirements and offers sensor traceability and custom calibration through ASIC data storage. The Al2O3 ceramic grants immunity to aggressive media, making ME 770 sensors highly versatile and reliable.

Its compact 18.00mm diameter, flush mount structure further facilitates easy installation and integration into systems. The transducer’s signal output operates on a Ratiometric scale, ranging from 0.5 to 4.5 V, ensuring a responsive and accurate representation of pressure variations. With its impressive features and adaptability, the ME770 Pressure Transducer proves to be an excellent choice for demanding pressure-sensing applications.

Features

The ME 770 Ceramic Pressure Transducer is particularly valued for its excellent resistance to corrosion and abrasion, making it ideal for use in harsh environments where aggressive chemicals or abrasive media are present. This robust resistance ensures long-term reliability and accuracy, even when the sensor is exposed to challenging process fluids or cleaning cycles, which is especially important in industries such as chemical processing, water treatment, and food and beverage production.

Another key application is signal conditioning, which refers to the transducer’s ability to provide a stable and precise electrical output that can be easily integrated into various control and monitoring systems. The ME 770’s design allows for straightforward signal processing, ensuring that the pressure readings are both accurate and compatible with a wide range of electronic devices and data acquisition systems.

The transducer is also EMC compliant, meaning it is engineered to operate reliably in environments with high electromagnetic interference. This compliance is crucial in industrial settings where electrical noise from machinery and other equipment could otherwise disrupt sensor performance. By meeting EMC standards, the ME 770 ensures consistent operation and data integrity, even in electrically noisy environments.

Thermally compensated performance is another significant application, as the ME 770 is designed to maintain accuracy across a wide temperature range. This compensation minimizes the effects of temperature fluctuations on pressure readings, making the transducer suitable for outdoor installations or processes where temperature changes are frequent and unpredictable.

Finally, the ME 770 features zero stress mounting software, which refers to its mechanical design that minimizes the introduction of mounting stresses during installation. This feature helps preserve the sensor’s calibration and measurement accuracy over time, reducing the risk of drift or error due to mechanical influences. As a result, the transducer is well-suited for applications where precise and stable pressure measurement is critical, regardless of how or where it is mounted.
