Product Highlights
The Pressure Switch 901 EX is a versatile industrial solution with factory-set switching points and maximum positive working pressures. The models 901.1x Ex, 901.2x Ex, 901.41Ex, and 901.51Ex offer switching points ranging from 5 mbar to 12 bar, and maximum positive working pressures from 0.5 to 25 bar. It can handle temperatures from -20°C to 85°C for both media and ambient conditions.
The diaphragm material options include NBR, Silicone, FKM (Viton®), and EPDM, making it compatible with various media types. The pressure connection materials are PA, PVDF, Brass, and Stainless Steel, and it can be fitted with hose nipples of 5.0mm, 6.5mm, or 10.0mm, as well as threads like M10x1, G1/8, G1/4, and G1/2. The electrical rating is 24 VDC/100 mA or 30 VDC/45 mA, with either AMP flat plug or push-on screw terminals for electrical connection. The Pressure Switch 901 EX boasts IP 54 protection class (with cover 6371), ensuring reliability in diverse environments.
Applications
The wastewater technology sector relies heavily on robust and reliable pressure switches like the 901 EX to ensure safe and efficient operation of treatment plants and pumping stations. In these environments, the pressure switch is used to monitor and control the pressure within pipes and tanks, helping to prevent overpressure situations that could lead to leaks, equipment damage, or environmental contamination. Its explosion-proof design is particularly valuable in wastewater facilities where potentially hazardous gases may be present, ensuring both safety and compliance with strict industry regulations.
In liquid level measurement applications, the Pressure Switch 901 EX serves as a critical component for monitoring the levels of various liquids in tanks and reservoirs. By detecting changes in pressure that correspond to liquid levels, the switch can trigger alarms or control systems to maintain optimal levels, prevent overflow, and protect pumps from running dry. This is especially important in industries where precise liquid management is essential for process stability and safety.
Pump control is another key application for the Pressure Switch 901 EX. The switch can be integrated into pump systems to automatically start or stop pumps based on preset pressure thresholds. This automation not only improves energy efficiency by running pumps only when necessary but also extends the lifespan of the equipment by reducing wear and tear. In hazardous or explosive environments, the switch’s EX certification ensures that pump control operations remain safe and reliable.
In the field of medical technology, the Pressure Switch 901 EX is used in devices and systems where precise pressure monitoring is vital for patient safety and equipment functionality. For example, it can be found in medical gas supply systems, sterilization equipment, and laboratory devices. The switch’s high accuracy and reliability help maintain the stringent standards required in medical settings, while its robust construction ensures consistent performance even in demanding conditions.
