Product Highlights
The Pressure Switch 901 is a versatile device designed for various applications. It offers different setting ranges to suit specific needs. The standard/extended types 901.1x have factory-set switching points between 5 mbar and 200 mbar, or 200 mbar and 1,000 mbar, with a maximum positive working pressure of 0.5 / 4 bar or 1 / 4 bar, respectively. The 901.41 type provides switching points between 500 mbar and 3,000 mbar, with a maximum positive working pressure of 10 bar. For higher pressures, the 901.51 type has factory-set points between 1.0 bar and 12 bar, with a maximum positive working pressure of 25 bar.
The 901.2x type caters to negative pressure settings, ranging from -5 mbar to -200 mbar, or -200 mbar to -900 mbar, with maximum working pressures of 0.5 / 4 bar or 1 / 4 bar, respectively. It operates in ambient temperatures from -20°C to 85°C and media temperatures up to 85°C or 130°C depending on the material of the pressure connection and diaphragm. The electrical rating includes AgNi and gilded contacts, and the electrical connection is made using an AMP flat plug 6.3 x 0.8 mm according to DIN 46244. Depending on the used protection cap, the switch offers protection classes of IP44, IP54, or IP65.
Applications
The 901 Factory-Set Pressure Switch finds significant use in wastewater technology, where it plays a crucial role in monitoring and controlling the pressure within wastewater systems. By reliably detecting pressure changes, the switch helps automate processes such as the activation of pumps or alarms, ensuring that wastewater is efficiently transported and treated while preventing overflows or equipment damage.
In the field of liquid level measurement, the 901 Pressure Switch is employed to monitor the pressure exerted by a liquid column, which directly correlates to the liquid’s level in a tank or reservoir. This application is vital for maintaining optimal levels in storage tanks, preventing overfilling or running dry, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of industrial processes that depend on precise liquid management.
For pump control, the 901 Pressure Switch is used to automatically start or stop pumps based on preset pressure thresholds. This automation not only protects pumps from running under adverse conditions, such as dry running or overpressure, but also enhances energy efficiency and prolongs the lifespan of the pumping equipment by ensuring it operates only when necessary.
In medical technology, the 901 Pressure Switch is integrated into devices and systems that require precise and reliable pressure monitoring, such as in respiratory equipment, sterilization units, or fluid delivery systems. Its accuracy and dependability are essential for patient safety and the proper functioning of sensitive medical apparatus, where even minor deviations in pressure can have significant consequences.
