Product Highlights
The Gas Pressure Switch 901 Prescal® is a versatile device designed to monitor and control gas pressure. It offers various setting ranges for the upper switching point, from 5 mbar to 500 mbar, allowing precise adjustments for specific needs. The diaphragm, made of NBR material, ensures durability in challenging conditions. Operating within a temperature range of 0 to +80°C for both ambient and media temperature, it suits various environments.
The pressure connection, constructed with brass and available in different threads, ensures compatibility with different systems. The electrical rating ranges from max. 6 (1,5) A / 250 VAC in the standard version to max. 100 mA / 24 VAC in the low voltage version. Users can choose from different protection classes (IP44 / IP54 / IP65) and add a protection cap for higher protection class II. The Gas Pressure Switch 901 Prescal® provides a dependable and adaptable solution for managing gas pressures in industrial applications.
Applications
The 901 Prescal Gas Pressure Switch is widely used for monitoring the overpressure of city gas in urban distribution networks and residential buildings. In these settings, the switch acts as a safeguard by detecting when the pressure of city gas exceeds safe limits, automatically triggering safety mechanisms or alarms to prevent leaks, equipment damage, or hazardous conditions. Its adjustable setpoint allows it to be tailored to the specific requirements of city gas systems, ensuring reliable and consistent protection.
Another important application is overpressure monitoring in natural gas systems. The 901 Prescal is installed in both domestic and industrial environments where natural gas is used for heating, power generation, or as a process fuel. By continuously checking the pressure, the switch helps maintain the integrity of the gas supply, preventing dangerous overpressure events that could lead to system failures or safety incidents. Its robust design and precise adjustment make it suitable for the varying demands of natural gas infrastructure.
The switch is also essential for LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) overpressure protection. In LPG storage and distribution systems, maintaining the correct pressure is critical due to the highly flammable nature of the gas. The 901 Prescal Gas Pressure Switch monitors the pressure within tanks and pipelines, ensuring it does not exceed safe operating levels. If an overpressure situation arises, the switch can activate safety protocols to protect both equipment and personnel from potential explosions or fire hazards.
