What is the recommended calibration interval for the UPS-HSR pressure sensor?

The recommended calibration interval for the UPS-HSR pressure sensor depends on its usage.

Low-Stress Usage: If the sensor operates within its normal pressure range, experiences minimal daily pressure fluctuations, and is used at room temperature, a calibration every 18 months should be sufficient.

  • High-Stress Usage: If the sensor is subjected to frequent and rapid pressure cycles daily, we recommend considering calibrations every 12 months.

What does “calibration” mean in this context? #

Calibration can refer to two different processes:

  1. Adjustment: This involves making adjustments to the device to minimize any offsets.
  2. Validation: This is to confirm that the sensor’s readings are within its specified tolerance. In this case, no adjustment is needed, and the sensor’s offsets are simply noted on a calibration certificate.

Please note that all calibrations and calibration certificates are performed at room temperature.

Can I adjust the calibration date or values myself? #

You can adjust the calibration date using a provided password, as the sensor typically doesn’t require physical adjustment. This is because any drift that occurs can usually be corrected by “zeroing” or “taring” the sensor within the software.

However, if you need to adjust the sensor’s values and perform a full “re-calibration” that includes the thermal compensation process, this can only be done by the factory. We can provide a quote for this service if needed.
