For NPT (National Pipe Thread) male threads, use thread sealant tape (such as PTFE or Teflon tape) or a liquid thread sealant rather than relying on a metal-to-metal seal alone. NPT threads are tapered, which means they are designed to become tighter as they are screwed together, but they are not inherently leak-proof without a sealing material.

Using thread tape or a liquid sealant helps fill the small gaps between the threads, ensuring a watertight or airtight seal and preventing leaks. It also aids in the disassembly of the joint later, reducing the risk of thread damage when unscrewing.
NPT thread options are available on all our standard pressure transmitters including the TPTa, DMP 331, DMP 333 for example.
