Product Highlights
The SIAi8 module is a versatile device that enables the measurement of analogue values from 8 current or voltage inputs using the RS-485 connection. With a speed rate of approximately 10 Hz for each channel, it provides accurate and real-time measurement results. The module offers various options for recalculating measurement data, including linear, square, or user-defined multipoint characteristics with a maximum length of 20 points. This flexibility allows for precise and customisable data processing.
The SIAi8 module is particularly useful in distributed control and visualisation systems, where it can be seamlessly integrated. It supports standard Modbus transmission functions, allowing for easy configuration such as changing device addresses or detecting device types. Additionally, the module’s operating functions can be accessed and controlled remotely via the RS-485 connection using typical visualisation software or compatible MultiCon controllers, making it a convenient and user-friendly solution for various applications.
Features
The analogue inputs module is designed to serve as a versatile interface for acquiring analog signals from various sensors and devices. This makes it ideal for industrial automation, building management systems, and process control, where accurate measurement and monitoring of physical parameters such as temperature, pressure, or flow are essential.
With 8 independent analogue inputs (voltage or current), the module allows users to connect up to eight different analog sources simultaneously. Each input can be configured for either voltage or current signals, providing flexibility to accommodate a wide range of sensor types and measurement requirements within a single device.
The module supports RS-485 / Modbus RTU communication, enabling seamless integration into distributed control systems and remote monitoring setups. This standard protocol ensures reliable data transmission over long distances and allows the module to be easily networked with other Modbus-compatible devices, such as PLCs, HMIs, or SCADA systems.
A key safety and reliability feature is the galvanic separation of the inputs from the module supply voltages. This isolation protects both the module and connected equipment from electrical interference, ground loops, and potential damage due to voltage spikes, ensuring accurate signal acquisition and long-term operational stability.
For ease of use and diagnostics, the module is equipped with LEDs for module operation and Modbus transmission signalling. These visual indicators provide immediate feedback on the status of the module, power supply, and communication activity, helping users quickly identify operational states or troubleshoot issues without the need for additional tools.
Finally, the input signals connected by means of the socket-plug connectors feature simplifies installation and maintenance. The use of detachable connectors allows for quick and secure wiring, making it easy to replace or reconfigure sensors without interrupting the entire system, which is especially valuable in environments where uptime and flexibility are critical.
