Product Highlights: STT-28 Temperature Transmitter
The STT-28 Submersible temperature transmitter has been designed to be permanently submersed in liquids and suspended by its cable making installation very simple. The housing is available in either stainless steel or marine bronze to ensure complete compatibility with the media.
The temperature measuring element is an NTC thermistor, especially selected for its accuracy and stability which we further correct in electronics to achieve a high level of performance. Two versions available with the standard submersible version for applications where temperature response is not key and trends of accurate temperature measurement over time are more important. Alternatively we have a thin walled 10mm probe version for applications requiring very quick response time to temperature change.
Paired with accurate amplifier internal electronics we provide SDi-12 communications and a number of standard and bespoke commands to retrieve the data you require from the STT-28.. The device can also be rescaled using the USB-SDI12-PRO to simply connect the to the device, interface to the PC/Laptop USB port and use the free software supplied. The USB-SDI12-PRO provides the relevant power to the device using the 5V supply from the connected device.
Applications: STT-28 Temperature Transmitter
The water tank temperature measurement application is a fundamental use of the STT 28 sensor. In this context, the sensor is submerged in water tanks to provide accurate and real-time temperature readings. This is crucial for maintaining optimal water conditions, ensuring safety, and supporting efficient energy management in both domestic and industrial water storage systems.
For legionnaires prevention systems, the STT 28 sensor plays a vital role in monitoring water temperatures to prevent the growth of Legionella bacteria. By continuously tracking the temperature within water systems, the sensor helps facilities maintain conditions that inhibit bacterial proliferation, thereby supporting public health and regulatory compliance.
In the realm of tsunami monitoring, the STT 28 sensor is used to detect rapid changes in water temperature that may indicate seismic activity or underwater disturbances. These temperature variations can serve as early warning signs, allowing authorities to issue timely alerts and take preventive measures to protect coastal communities.
Harbour seawater monitoring is another important application, where the STT 28 sensor is deployed to track temperature fluctuations in harbours. This data is essential for managing port operations, assessing the impact of industrial activities, and ensuring the health of marine ecosystems in busy coastal areas.
When it comes to estuary temperature analysis, the sensor is used to study the dynamic temperature profiles where rivers meet the sea. Monitoring these changes is critical for understanding ecological processes, managing fisheries, and assessing the effects of climate change on sensitive estuarine environments.
The STT 28 sensor is also integral to environmental monitoring systems. By providing reliable temperature data in various aquatic environments, the sensor supports broader environmental assessments, pollution tracking, and the development of conservation strategies aimed at preserving water quality and biodiversity.
Finally, in marine biology studies, the STT 28 sensor enables researchers to gather precise temperature data in marine habitats. This information is vital for studying the behavior, distribution, and health of marine organisms, as well as for understanding the broader impacts of environmental changes on ocean life.
