Product Highlights
The SLC94 Counter is specifically designed for precise time measurements, making it ideal for determining the duration of time intervals and measuring a machine’s operating time. To initiate measurements, signals from control devices’ push-buttons or contactors are connected to the counter’s terminals located on the backside.
Through proper programming, the counter can accurately measure the time period between {START} and {STOP} signals. Alternatively, it can also measure the activity time of the {START} signal. The counter offers flexibility in control and operation, as it can be started, stopped, and cleared either through the local keyboard located on the front of the device or via the RS-485 interface.
Furthermore, the counter features a totaliser function, enabling simultaneous triggering and stopping of both counters. It supports time counting in the range of 0 ms to 999 99.9 hours, while the built-in relay outputs make it suitable for controlling various time-dependent processes. Configuration options are available through the local keyboard or the S-Config software, which can be accessed via the RS-485 communication port.
Features
The timer and totaliser functionality of the SLC 94 allows the device to operate both as a timer, measuring elapsed time, and as a totaliser, accumulating values over time. This dual capability makes it suitable for a wide range of industrial and process control applications where both timing and counting are essential.
With START/STOP pulse inputs, the SLC 94 can be easily controlled by external signals. These inputs allow users to initiate or halt the timing or counting process with simple electrical pulses, providing flexibility for integration into automated systems or manual operations.
The device offers 2 reset sources: manual or electronic, giving users the option to reset the timer or totaliser either by pressing a physical button or by sending an electronic signal. This dual reset capability enhances convenience and ensures the device can be adapted to various operational requirements.
Depending on the model, the SLC 94 provides 0 or 2 REL / OC outputs. These relay or open-collector outputs can be used to trigger external devices or alarms when certain thresholds are reached, making the SLC 94 a versatile component in control and monitoring systems.
For communication and integration with other equipment, the SLC 94 features RS-485 / Modbus RTU support. This allows the device to be connected to industrial networks, enabling remote monitoring, configuration, and data collection through widely used communication protocols.
A wide range of precision and presentation formats is available, allowing users to select the most appropriate display and measurement settings for their application. This flexibility ensures that the device can be tailored to specific process requirements, whether high precision or simple readouts are needed.
The ACCESS option – easy threshold modification feature enables users to quickly and conveniently adjust threshold values without complex programming. This is particularly useful in environments where setpoints need to be changed frequently or by operators with minimal technical training.
Finally, the SLC 94 comes with free configuration software S-Config, which simplifies the setup and customization process. This software provides a user-friendly interface for configuring device parameters, saving time and reducing the likelihood of errors during installation and commissioning.
