Stork SLS-A & SLS-D Replaced by New SLS Submersible Range

At Stork Solutions we’re always looking for ways to give our customers greater flexibility, faster lead times and more consistent quality. As part of that commitment, we’re making an important change to our submersible level sensor line-up.

Our legacy SLS-A (Analogue) and SLS-D (Digital, SDI-12) submersible level transmitters are being replaced by a new, standardised range:

SLSA Submersible Level Transmitter with Analogue Output

Why we're making the change

The biggest change sits behind the scenes: we’ve moved away from externally manufactured, moulded cable assemblies to a proprietary internal cable gland assembly designed and built in-house.

That single change unlocks a number of benefits:

  • Greater manufacturing control – bringing the cable gland in-house removes our dependency on outside subcontractors.
  • Shorter, more reliable lead times – with more of the process under our own roof, we can respond to orders faster.
  • A simpler, clearer product portfolio – one consistent platform across all four variants.

What's improved

The new range isn’t just a rebadge — it’s a genuine step up:

  • Cable length flexibility – the new gland system supports a far wider range of cable lengths, instead of the fixed lengths of the legacy products.
  • WRAS-approved cable options – the design now accommodates larger-diameter, WRAS-approved cabling for potable water applications.
  • Proven sealing – the new sealing arrangement is pressure tested to 15 bar (approx. 150 m water depth).
  • New digital electronics platform – digital models now use a new circular SDI-12 PCB for greater consistency across the range.
  • Expanded material options – standard construction is 316 stainless steel, with Marine Bronze CA104 available on the ceramic models.

Choosing the right variant

The new naming makes selection straightforward:

Code

Sensor element

Output

SLS-SA

Silicon

Analogue

SLS-SD

Silicon

Digital

SLS-CA

Ceramic

Analogue

SLS-CD

Ceramic

Digital

SLS identifies the device, the second letter the sensor type (S = Silicon, C = Ceramic), and the third the output (A = Analogue, D = Digital).

  • Analogue models support mV, 4-20 mA, 0.5-4.5 V and 0-10 V outputs.
  • Digital models support SDI-12 and RS485.

What this means for you

For all new enquiries and quotes, please specify the new range — SLS-SA, SLS-SD, SLS-CA or SLS-CD. The legacy SLS-A and SLS-D remain available only for specific cases: direct like-for-like legacy replacements, strict legacy specification requirements, or other approved exceptions.

For full technical specifications, output options and part-numbering details, please refer to the official product datasheets or get in touch with our team — we’re happy to help you select the right sensor for your application.
